Hello. The interior walls are London Fog/1541 by Benjamin Moore in FLAT.

I think if you select a wall color that is too well coordinated to the tile, it will only bring out the vibrant pattern in the tile. So pick colors you like. Let your personal style and the vibe of the rooms dictate the colors. Your walls, furnishings and accessories will take center stage so you won't really notice the tile. Area rugs will down play the tile too. Ceilings are a great opportunity to add color also.

Your second photo brings me right to the stairwell scene in Hitchcock's "Vertigo," although I realize I'm looking up, not down. It's really rather wonderful. I'm just wondering, looking to the upper left in particular, if it's been recently checked out by a structural engineer. As for paint, I'll be interested to see what others say. For me, who doesn't do a lot of white, I think I actually would stay with a white here. A muddy green might be nice as well, but you'd need to incorporate a bit of lighting -- perhaps uplighting along the beams unseen from below, with something amazing hanging from that cool, crazy peak you have. Hi Yuxian! Think about what style you're going for as you would want your paint colours to complement the furnishings to come. Also, what mood do you want to create for your whole house/each room? For instance, yellows are uplifting and cheery while greens are usually restful. Browse online for 'paint colour ideas' and save a collection of photos that appeal to you. You're likely to find great decor ideas at the same time! With that particular part of the house pictured above though, my advice is to make the most of the precious daylight coming through that window (there's just never enough sunlight in my flat! RIP, all our plants that once lived) and have this room painted in lighter hues. It's uplifting stepping in to a bright and airy home. Ultimately, follow your heart and if you love a colour, choose it!
