Metal Kitchen Counter top

Hello, I am thinking of using metal (blacken steel??? any suggestions?) for my counter top which will house a top mounted sink and an induction hob. Does anyone have any experience with using a metal counter top or pros and cons to do something like that?

I've seen it done in Aseop stores but I wonder if it works in a home kitchen setting.

Hi @leewinnie, it is TRUE that white countertops turn yellow, or amber overtime, and not an old wives' tale as suggested. Rust will definitely be an issue. You can spray paint or powder coat a clear coat, but spray painted clear coat will wear out over time and you won't be able to tell until it started to rust. Powder coat will also chip unless you are very careful with the surface. Clear powder coat will also be glossy - not a look you will want with blackened steel. No experience with induction hob on metal surface but won't be surprised if the immediate surrounding will be warm.
