Could you please tell me the material used for the cabinets in this vintage kitchen? Is it possible to get this look in plywood?

You do have a very impressive collection of materials.
Since you are in this business , I think you will be the best person to answer my question.
Would you be kind enough to explain to me the cons of having MDF shutters compared to laminate plywood shutters?
What would be difference in their durability?
I would be using my kitchen extensively. I have 2 little kids who are yet to learn the art of gentle handling of things.
So for me, do you think a kitchen with plywood carcass and white panelled MDF shutters in membrane finish is a good choice?
I would greatly appreciate your valuable advice. Thank you !

Hello there :) Nice design by the way. Perhaps you can: 1. Change the door panels only. Keep the existing shape & the cupboards, the carpenter can 'update' the doors with different handles too (like image above). 2. Spray paint is more $$$ but I think it is longer lasting. 3. Laminated is less $$ but as we all know it chips & eventually the laminate comes out (wear & tear). 4. Unless you want the inside of the cabinet to be changed from existing white to a different colour, then the carpenter have to dismantle everything & redo. So more $$$$ Hope this helps & Happy shopping!

Hi Sivasankari Suppas, Your designer and you probably have decided what laminates to choose by now as your tiles have been chosen and laid on floor and walls. To go against the grain now would not be advisable as we can clearly see that a solid colour will work now as you have lots of pattern on the wall and floor. We would recommend a solid charcoal colour so it will appear dark (black) but not be solid as we can understand your concern of finger prints and marks when its solid black. We would then suggest a white or light grey colour or the kitchen top. Hope that helps? Do let us know if we could help you with more ideas?
