What is a good furniture layout for this awkward open living room?
Comments (2)Hello Cody, If the TV isn't going on the mantle wall than the only other available wall is the 13'5" wall. You might think about moving the TV to this wall and balancing it with art or plants. Your sofa can be turned with its back to the entrance/stairs and a small console table can be placed behind it to act as a visual stop. Your chair can be placed where the sofa currently sits or you could add a pair of new chairs to this area near the stair alcove which would create a smaller seating cluster there. Small benches could be placed in front of the fire for additional seating, when and if necessary. This one is a challenge, but if you don't mind the TV as focal point and the sofa perpendicular to the fireplace, this could work. Best of luck with your decorating and please let us know if we can be of assistance, Elizabeth Cabell, ASID, CID Cabell Design Studio...See Morewhat type of tiles is best for bathroom floors.?stone or marble?
Comments (6)Marble are non-porous thus it would cause etching and corrosion. Besides that, marble are high maintenance materials. Marble requires proper care and maintenance. Acid should never be used on marble as it shall loose its shine. Marble should be regularly polished over a period of time to give it a new look. If proper precautions are not taken the marble becomes yellowish in colour. Italian marble is usually very soft and prone to cracks. Proper resins have to be used to make the surface strong and solid and avoid further cracks. Proper sealants should be used in marble flooring as the marble is highly porous and prone to staining. It absorbs stains very quickly especially kitchen stains hence are not appropriate for kitchen counter tops. Quartz would be a better choice as quartz are non porous. You can read more about the benefits of quartz here. If you like the marble look you may view the marble series from different brands from our quartz catalogue. Comments (7)Are these your chairs? They are pretty good looking. You can go with something like a round copper-topped table, use them as a host and hostess chair in a formal dining setting, or as parlor/library occasional chairs. Those would be a few great uses for them. They are very nice and can either go rustic, craftsman, lodge or traditional in the right environment....See MoreHad a wuff day? Comments (15)So...I have a bit of a design dilemma and could do with some Pointers. I tried to build a dog house but I only had enough dogs to build 3 walls. I could Springer couple hundred bucks to put a Setter strong Boxers on the final side. Howl ever, that increases the overall pawprint. This will Pinscher bit of Greyhound I had Setter side for a veggie patch. On the Otterhound, I could try Retriever large Labrador from somewhere and Whippet on the open end instead. But I'm still going to need clearway space for the Labrador to swing open. Schnauzer can't think a way around this mongrel of a problem at all. I'm really chasing my tail on this one! Hopefully I can get this project done without further Mastiff mistakes. Well... Lhasa apso!...See Morecharliebeth
