Rug or no rug?

I'm debating in purchasing a large rug to add some color and warmth. Do you think it would help or unnecessary? If so what colors or pattern? I have been debating on something with an orange/red/blue/yellow? Maybe big floral or just pin stripped?

But if you are serious, remove the like striped pillow covers, and replace them with plain any colored pillow covers or continue the fun & add a zig zag black & white area rug & one or two more striped items, such as lamps & a painted zebra coffee table. Comments (4)The new look is more white with wooden furniture and straight edges. For living room, clear white table and add more modern modern accessories in metal. The pink needs to be replaced with a brown or a mustard yellow cover(to make it stand out but yet within a warm tone). Beige sofa can have 2 cushions on each corner to neaten up. 9 years agoThank you all for the ideas! I still think a rug would look great, but we decided against it since we hose down the area often & the drain runs through out sitting area. It's our first year in Vegas, so it the ground gets scorching hot, then we may still try some of your ideas! ;)
Groveraxle, we did get some blue glass and I love it! We just need some more fun throws!
