What pieces did you use?

Hi,
I am looking at putting this exact design in both of my children's rooms.
I just wanted to know exactly what "Stolmen" products you used from IKEA.
I am in Australia.

Hi Kellie,

Thanks for your interest. As I completed this project close to 10 years ago, at this point it will be difficult for me help you specify the exact Stolmen products I used. I'm also not sure if the US products I used will be identical to those in Australia. I would suggest you go to your local IKEA store with a picture of this set up, and ask the salesperson there to help you specify the item numbers. Alternatively, Ikea has a very easy to use website and you can typle in Stolmen, and all the available products will come up. You can use the following link:

What a great room! If you enjoy the general Monochromatic feel of your room I'd go with white or silver (see 'option2' photo) and let your accent pillows do the accenting! The blue hue on the wall actually simplifies your color options. Either pull that color in through a patterned application as mentioned above (see 'option1' photo) or just stick to silver/white. work out the wall space you want to cover, measure this on the floor. then start laying out our design within the space on the floor to create your design. There has to be lines running through the collage so there is a method to the madness- we don't want a messy looking arrangement, there must be a flow. You can line up the matts with outside edge of other frames etc. Layout all of your pics on the floor and mix up the frame styles and sizes amongst your layout. Take photos of your layout and then start hanging. My tip is don't start hanging until you have your plan 100% !!! lots of neck stretches too! i recently put together this collage and need a neck massage afterwards ;-)

Hi Rachel, This is quite easy to fix. Firstly I would brighten the space up with a white paint such as Nippon Violet Whispers (warm white), this will give you a good base to work from. Then I would replace your table with one that is larger. This table is too small to be useful and is making your entrance feel small. I recommend using teak and keeping this console table simple in design. On the wall I would place artwork - the bigger the better as this will make a dramatic statement. Then add some lighting (table lamp on console table) and decorative items and voila your entrance will be instantly chic! I have mocked up two options for you - one is based on blues, the other pinks, so depending on your preference you can go either way. This is the blue version with hints of tropical This is the pink version. Hi, I work for Ikea although not in that department. What it looks like to me is: 3 posts, 6 110x38 shelves, 1 shelf 110x50, 1 two drawer chest 110x50. You will also need 18 mounting brackets for the shelves and chest, they are sold in boxes of 2, so you will need 9 boxes. Hope this helps.
