Beyond Boundaries
With a fantastic panoramic view sweeping across the East Coast to the city, this penthouse apartment had an expansive balcony that hugged the perimeter of the floor plate but was cut off from the interiors.
The solution to the design brief of showcasing a baby grand piano and key artwork pieces in the long and narrow layout that didn't have much wall space was an added focal feature wall along the balcony doors, which then acted as a backdrop to the baby grand and formed a sense of arrival into the home. New eco-friendly bamboo floorboards, a raised deck that extended the indoor and outdoor dining, and an alfresco bar blurred the boundaries between the interior and exterior, creating a heightened sense of space.
The collaboration with the clients resulted in a well-appointed interior that extended beyond the balcony and into the horizon.
