Dont use this! Get a magnet rack: Love my drawers that hold pots and pans, plastics, and weird sized things like popover tins. Do not like the knife drawer or the kitchen utensil drawer idea. When I am cooking i can't predict which knife or spoon I will need and don't want the interruption of opening and closing a drawer for those particular items. The magnet on the wall works great for knives, and it was an idea I got from houzz.

Having a spot where you can sweep away waste and compost as you go is a huge part of keeping counters tidy, and built-in bins sure look better than my stash of plastic bags from Target.
Baskets on the end of an island could conceal stacks of folded towels, recipe binders and miscellaneous tools.

Appliance garages: one thing they all seem to have in common is the seamless transition from inside the garage to the counter--same surface. Another thought is that the door should swing or get way out of the way, easily, w/o blocking anything else. Best way so far is in this picture--up and hidden away, one motion.
