clear + opaque panes for window - aluminum double hung window made by Blomberg Windows -- they are out of Sacramento. The glass is a combination of clear and translucent -- the latter is something called narrow reed -- good for the light, but still assures privacy. This unit could also have been done as an inswinging hopper ( hinge on botttom and window swings in) over a fixed lite - they offer that combo too. That might have been an even better choice, operation wise as the translucent glass would always stay in position and, not as it does in this window, open the user to view when the lower lite is opened. But -- for these clients, this was the best choice. The finish is an almost black brown -- one of their standard factory applied finishes. They are a great company. The key in this kind of installation besides the non wood window ( wood will just rot) is the installation and the interweaving of the water proofing layers for the tile and window to make sure that you have a completely tight and leak proof installation. I generally place the window as far from the shower spray as I can -- and take advantage of the adjacent wall - end wall of shower/tub as a reflective surface to...
