It's the rug that makes this entry work. Esp since this space is a central circulation space as well.

People would be drawn to sit/gather at the bar. That is where you would corral people (in in living room, not shown). the entry definitely has movement, invites people in, up, around, and even down. Clean. LIke the floors a lot. Like the open stairs, seems airy yet grounded.

I'm not sure I like the rectangular door here. Such an opportunity to do something with curves. But like the stone and wood and slate floor, outdoors coming in effect. Nice transition space. Would be perfect if in the alcove there is a super functional place to change shoes, hang up coats, get ready to go inside or outside, and not have all the stuff in view or in the way in this elegant transition space.
