Melocco and Moore Architects The living room pavilion is deliberately separated from the existing building by a central courtyard to create a private outdoor space that is accessed directly from the kitchen allowing solar access to the rear rooms of the original heritage-listed Victorian Regency residence.
Fleur Ward Interior DesignThe brief was to update, lighten and brighten. (see before photo) We knocked out the window and installed doors out onto the patio overlooking the 100ft garden which mirrored the doors in the next door living room. We moved the dining area from the front to the back of the room to enjoy the view. New bespoke white glossy units brought this kitchen back to life. A pretty painted splashback added some colour and a showstopper of a chandelier helped turn this kitchen from sad to fab!
Tsiantar Architects LtdThe original house was previously extended but had not been constructed to be in keeping with a building of this age and architectural appearance. We demolished the existing garage and two storey rear extension, both of which formed part of the previous extension works, and replaced this with a single storey side extension and a two storey rear extension, both of which are on the same footprint. Furthermore we formed a small rear single storey entrance which enabled us to open up the existing stairs which were cramped and devoid of any natural light. The main principle of the scheme was to open up the interior of the building allowing for improved natural light and to create an efficient, ergonomic family dwelling which blends into the long-established neighbourhood. All materials that have been used are in keeping with the period of the house and the design of the extension retain the proportions and heights of the existing period of the property, along with the windows and doors and a new Victorian styled traditional sky lantern.
Manias Associates Building DesignersFront entry of North Caulfield renovation project. All original features were retained and or restored. The front door and fanlight were original to the house, lighting was period match to provide a pleasant experience.
