Small built-in shelf in corner with chair and wall sconce for reading.

Q

Photo

Built in bookshelf: Does not go completely to floor and ceiling, also note "thick" wall. See also flooring transition strip between rooms.

Q

Photo

I just love a bookcase that goes over a doorway and continues on both sides. Once again, does not go completely to floor or ceiling, but has "fillers."

How about we just ignore it, like in this example.

Hard to find examples. None of these excite me. :(

Another example of a high shelf. Meh...

Love this house! All that carved wood, etc. Not trendy, but seems collected and creative.

Q

See, this is how a round coffee table/ottoman would work in a small room. In this case, a very open design. Also, side chair shows lots of leg. As does the lamp table.

Q

Photo

Similar to what I want to do for media wall

Q

Photo

round patterned ottoman, patterned rug, solid chair and sofa--lots of browns, yellows--warm neutrals

Q

board-formed cement makes a contemporary, but slightly rustic hearth wall.

Q

How bout them speakers?

Q

use Plate Rail to create shelving space above the doors.

Q

Photo

A contemporary room with lots of moulding, esp the ceiling.

Q

Photo

Very elegant doorframes--so very simple!

Q

Photo

Yes, that is a pocket door on the left!

Q

Baseboards. These are simple and modern (squared edges), but more grand than in typical homes. Looks to be composed of a simple 1X for the lower portion, plus a narrower square cross-section piece on top.

Q

Photo

Coffee table plus ottoman, makes for larger surface, but can also provide additional seating.

Q

Photo

Ceiling--looks like tile, but really is wallpaper.

Q

Photo

Similar living room TV wall setup.

Q

Photo

Nice arrangement of TV wall

Q

Photo

vertical blinds/curtain covers entire wall

Q

Photo

Solid marble fireplace surround, with simple wood mantle. Natural materials, but clean and modern.
