Would also be nice to build a small pond with a fountain in the back right corner. Then we could put some chairs and shrubs around it to make it a serene hang out spot.

This is an awesome idea for a backyard... like an extension of the house. It's an outdoor living room. Our backyard might be too big for this but I'd like to incorporate some bamboo and maybe an asian inspired theme.
