SY: Like this a lot
Love the back wall different than the side shower. Vanity and counters are awesome. Floor tile also great. SY: ok. grey and white, gotcha. I will sometimes warm up a gray and white palette with some stained wood or brass fixtures or wicker/natural mirror frames or something. see the imagery I've dropped on 2230 houzz board. BS: I think D is open to a wood vanity. I think I can get behind that in the hall but am less sure in the master. I like the idea of brass fixtures too. DS: no on the brass fixtures for me. Not a fan. Like the idea of the wood vanity in the hall. SY: got it.
Loving this pull out. I think it's only 6" wide so we could have a 60" vanity. SY: Sure. Definitely possible, but the trade off is less countertop. That ok by both of you? BS: I am because without this, 6" of my stuff would wind up on the countertop anyway DS: I am a big fan of clean countertops, so I like this. SY: ok, it's a go.
Love the storage down low in the shower. I like that the cutout for soap is below the sight line so you don't see all that stuff. Also like the drain. SY: linear drain is lovely - and more expensive. it's a must if your floor tile is large and not mosaic. You can do floor tile that runs right into a shower, which is a nice zero-entry effect for age-in-place design. If you do that, either all the floor is smaller mosaic tile (so the shower drain can be traditional center) or all the floor is large format tile with a linear drain. Thoughts? BS: sounds like this is a big budget issue. I prefer larger floor tile but am fine going ceramic to save $$. DS: big fan of unique drains and this linear one. I think zero entry is def the way to go with large tile throughout. SY: Bridget - it's not a huge budget buster, or it isn't necessarily. You'll want to ask Loren about its impact.
Like all of it except the rustic look on the vanity SY: got it. I like this too. But it's a touch cold - wondering about adding some warming touches? BS: agree this is a bit sterile. DS: yeah, I tend to attracted to gray modern items, mixing in the small warming details is something I struggle to do. Just needs to be done in the right way. Teak stool is cool. SY: teak stool. got it.
Like the gray floor tile and white shower. Probably a little busy, I would lose the honeycomb tile. SY: ok! What is missing for me here is perhaps the same thing missing in the other photos: something warm or natural. Wood or rattan or sisal or a red/purple/orange flower or green plant. BS: could we do a mid-tone vanity? This tile is one of my faves. DS: yeah room could use a pop of something. Love the wavy tile. SY: great. yes, midtone vanity. got it on the tile direction.
