Athens, GA Residence

DOC Unlimited Architectural Design DOC was asked to design, renovate and restore an historic home that was severely damaged by fire. This was a very interesting project including comprehensive infrastructure replacement and a re-design of the social flow of this late 19th Century "hall and four" Queen Anne Victorian. Gabled end ceilings were vaulted and skylights were added. An interior atrium was defined with the possibility of a future second story development. Careful attention was paid to the thermal envelope with matched replacement insulated windows throughout and a 21 SEER variable speed central HVAC system. The design program for the project was defined by the goals of daylighting, generosity of eloquent space and a product which was built for long life. Great Fun!! Enjoy, and please send us your comments!
