Pu'uwai Design & ConstructionThis gorgeous guest suite is light and bright perfect for any guest. The color pallet is mostly white with the addition of some bright pops of yellow and green, complimenting the lush landscaping surrounding the space. The bed covering is a white quilt with matching shams, a white duvet adds extra comfort, custom yellow throw pillows add pops of color to the fresh pallet. The bed is mango wood made custom in Indonesia, the nightstands are also mango wood made to match. The lamps are hand blown glass with natural woven shades. The artwork is by local artist Pepe. The woven blinds were custom ordered. The jute rug adds a natural touch and the warm gray tile floors keep things neutral.

Visbeen ArchitectsThe Hasserton is a sleek take on the waterfront home. This multi-level design exudes modern chic as well as the comfort of a family cottage. The sprawling main floor footprint offers homeowners areas to lounge, a spacious kitchen, a formal dining room, access to outdoor living, and a luxurious master bedroom suite. The upper level features two additional bedrooms and a loft, while the lower level is the entertainment center of the home. A curved beverage bar sits adjacent to comfortable sitting areas. A guest bedroom and exercise facility are also located on this floor.
Habachy DesignsI love contrasting materials in my interiors (new with old, polished with rough, dark with light), because I think it makes for a more visually stimulating spaces. Here, we brought in the reclaimed wood as a rustic backdrop for the modern furnishings. We added the chocolate curtains to make it appear as if there were a window in the room and to visually frame out the space. The art work is by a good friend of mine, Todd Murphy.
Habachy Designs brought in all of the linens and kept it monochromatic with the textured shag area rug. Last but not least, I always love to select a sculptural focal point for a room, and thought what better light fixture for this space than the Taraxacum Suspension Light which was designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, 1960.

Dyna BuildersClean and simple define this 1200 square foot Portage Bay floating home. After living on the water for 10 years, the owner was familiar with the area’s history and concerned with environmental issues. With that in mind, she worked with Architect Ryan Mankoski of Ninebark Studios and Dyna to create a functional dwelling that honored its surroundings. The original 19th century log float was maintained as the foundation for the new home and some of the historic logs were salvaged and custom milled to create the distinctive interior wood paneling. The atrium space celebrates light and water with open and connected kitchen, living and dining areas. The bedroom, office and bathroom have a more intimate feel, like a waterside retreat. The rooftop and water-level decks extend and maximize the main living space. The materials for the home’s exterior include a mixture of structural steel and glass, and salvaged cedar blended with Cor ten steel panels. Locally milled reclaimed untreated cedar creates an environmentally sound rain and privacy screen.
