Block House
The Block House is an experiment in maximizing daylight and living space within a traditional Philadelphia row home, while maintaining intimacies of scale and privacy through-out the project. The design features double height living spaces with a triple height skylight that feeds natural light to every level of the home. On the third floor, the master bedroom with mezzanined bath, is flooded with natural light from the 15’ glass block wall. The roof terrace features heightened parapet walls creating an external sunning space which remains open to the sky, yet private from neighbors.
