For this project, we created a free-standing structure for the owner’s back patio. Once again, we primarily used timber in the construction. We designed the roof in such a way that any material that covers it such as shade cloth or fiberglass panels will still allow in plenty of light. You’ll notice the slight difference in the four support posts too. The ones in the foreground have ‘feet’ while the ones in the background don’t, as we anchored them in the stone. With its view of the roses, this is a perfect place to set up some patio furniture for outdoor meals.
