For this ground up project in one of Lafayette’s most prized neighborhoods, we brought an East Coast sensibility to this West Coast residence. Honoring the client’s love of classical interiors, we layered the traditional architecture with a crisp contrast of saturated colors, clean moldings and refined white marble. In the living room, tailored furnishings are punctuated by modern accents, bespoke draperies and jewelry like sconces. Built-in custom cabinetry, lasting finishes and indoor/outdoor fabrics were used throughout to create a fresh, elegant yet livable home for this active family of five.

Modern beach was the requested theme for this young San Francisco couple in need of furniture for their new victorian home. Textural fabrics, white playful accessories help tie the two schemes together. Matching low height chaise and sofa helps keep the floor plan open, while a custom dining table was designed to accomodate large dinner parties. The dining room chairs were selected in micro fiber for kid-friendly clean up. Photography by Wonderkamera.

The dining room is particularly jewel-like, with gold-leaf ceiling and an 18th century Italian chandelier suspended from a starburst plaster medallion. Shimmering effects are enhanced by a crackled porcelain wall covering inspired by Chinese celadon ceramic ware. Timothy chose a silk woven damask in a contemporary design for dining room draperies and trimmed them with traditional tassel fringe. “I was trying to achieve classic design with a twist. It is classic and traditional, but there is a freshness as well about the whole house.” Corrigan says. The chairs designed by Billy Haines are covered in Clarence House coral velvet.

Internally a palette of existing granite walls has been paired with Jerusalem limestone stone flooring from Mandarin Stone , and wide-plank oak flooring. Existing timber ceiling and roof structures have been retained where possible – retaining the character of the property. Feature panels of black walnut line the kitchen and entrance hall joinery, adding warmth to the calm colour palette. Wood burners were supplied by Kernow Fires .
