Fresh and Traditional

The owners of this solid brick period home were looking for a kitchen to match the traditional styling of their home, with a modern and functional twist. To create this open and spacious kitchen, the original brick chimney was removed from the existing design and the entrance to the kitchen was relocated to allow for better flow between the central living spaces. To enhance the open feel of this stunning kitchen, glass accents are featured throughout the design. The silver-grey Murano glass tiled splashback combines traditional colour and style in a modern finish and the continuation of the tile throughout the length of the kitchen enhances the spaciousness of the kitchen design. A recessed glass plate rack between the overhead cabinets, enhanced with downlights, provides an elegant space to display beloved kitchen pieces and glass inserts in the overhead cabinetry doors showcase glassware and crockery. The inclusion of a ceiling skylight welcomes natural light into the kitchen and enhances brightness while ensuring better lighting efficiency. To keep with the traditional architecture of the home, a new reclaimed Baltic pine floor was laid to continue the existing home flooring. This traditional feel is also emphasised in the kitchen cabinetry, with the use of shaker-style, vinyl wrap doors and panels in matte finish Alabaster by Polytec and brushed stainless steel Porcino handles. Functionality is a key feature of this beautiful kitchen design, with two banks of wide drawers under the breakfast bar for added storage and both overhead and under bench cabinetry to provide multiple storage options.
