Old Mill House - Porch view
Old Mill House is located in the picturesque village of Quenington, near Cirencester. The project is an oak framed extension to a traditional Cotswold stone cottage.
The oak frame windows and doors provide two storeys of light filled living space with views across the River Coln. The site is within the Quenington Conservation Area and the Coln Valley North of Fairford Special Landscape Area which affords special consideration to the design and contribution of new buildings within the area.
Conservation style rooflights bring natural light into the first floor space while helping to ventilate the space during warmer weather. The extension uses natural vernacular materials to blend harmoniously with the existing historic cottage, creating a timeless elegance through a careful balance between old and new.
