Secret Garden
BRIEF: To design a garden of atmospheric secret spaces with informality within a structured setting. The planting should have plenty of texture and movement and water should be used to heighten the sensory experience of the spaces.
The garden provides a journey of discovery of atmospheric secret spaces. Physical elements such as steps, step-overs, slopes, dead ends and crossovers push and pull the wanderer through the garden, evoking different feelings and attitudes along the way.
The spaces progress from public to semi-public, semi-private and , finally, private, heightening senses of awareness, stillness and contemplation.
