Small Space Great Potential
Styling this two-bedroom apartment did present its challenges. The open living dining and kitchen area was flanked by a passage to the bedrooms. This meant that furniture could only be styled to the left of the passage thereby decreasing floor space. To define the living area space, we used a rug of light colour. Using the light coloured rug, brought about a sense of spaciousness and lightness. Note how the rug has been placed. Laying the rug in its lenght makes the area appear wider. Using nesting coffee table of glass and chrome allows natural light to travel through thereby creating a sense of space. Adding faux greenery into this area pulls the room together, is a guest-welcoming feature and boosts the mood. The artwork picks up the surrounding colours.
