The Solar Homestead - Bark House Shingle Siding
Bark House was a sponsor of the Appalachian State University Solar Homestead for the 2011 Department of Energy Solar Decathlon. The Department of Technology and Environmental Design at ASU met the criteria of the Solar Decathlon while honoring the local culture of the area. The team used local materials and building styles such as a large covered porch and a flex area to add to the living space.
