Stained a redish-orange brown in color. The design of these chairs are both beautiful and functional. We love that they are made to accommodate any size bottom. They are made of wood with veneer on the back rest cross pattern. They have beautiful square tapered legs. The wood and finish are in good condition. They all have nicks and scratches indicative of age and use. There is one repaired chip in one of the chairs cross sections on the back rest 1 1/2 L x 1/2" T on the front in the left hand corner. They are upholstered with a floral cotton fabric, which is not original. The fabric is in fair condition on all. The white of the cotton has darkened/blotched with age. Overall a really beautiful timeless set.
