Yorkville Transitional

A narrow, however long city home, we had to bring grandeur and usability (in such a way that one would want to use it) to the center of the home. The three-story space is capped with an 8' x 8' pyramid skylight showering natural light into the center of the home. To maximize this light, we opted for glass railings for the perimeter of the staircase. A custom two tier chandelier suspends from a cantilevered arm to illuminate the staircase and the dining table. The dining table is made from the floor joists of the original home which are more then a hundred years of age.
