He offered advice about which type of insulation to use, what windows would be most cost-effective yet eco-friendly and how geothermal could be used in our home. He also pointed out some flaws in the floor plan we brought as inspiration and helped us design a well thought out, functional layout that will for our family for years to come. On the exterior, he offered many ideas on how to give a new build some character and make it feel inviting. Scott delivered our plans very quickly and when we had revisions, they were done promptly. When we decided to change the roof pitch to add more head space to the second story of our cape cod, he called to discuss truss design and potential increased home costs to ensure we were making the best decision. “We consulted with Jon to help us with reshape an old 3300 sq ft outdated quad level home into a 4000 sq ft Tuscan inspired dream. Jon worked with us on an extremely tight deadline, one week, to do full phase 1 drawings and sketches. We are so grateful for Jon's help and time, considering phase 1 typically takes a month or longer. What really impressed us was Jon's professionalism and passion for his work. He had a lot of great ideas and input for us, and the finished proposal was absolutely terrific. The project was going to cost around $400,000 to complete in its entirety, and Jon's proprietary formula for calculating cost, which uses data from 100s of previous jobs, was within 5% of the contractor's bid. We ultimately decided not to purchase the home and move forward with the gut and renovation due to personal reasons. However, Jon is without a doubt going to be our architect should another project ever arise. My wife and I cannot recommend Jon enough. When it comes to choosing an architect, you cannot go wrong.”

At every step, Bill ensured our comfort and minimized the disruption to our daily life. Communication and follow-through was excellent. Our wish to collaborate was welcomed, and he shared our collective creative vision via CAD design and rendering tools to help us visualize the project during the planning and decision making stages. To help us participate in the construction phases, he used a web-based project planning tool called BuilderTREND that allowed us to monitor progress and approve change orders online. The project started and ended on-time with excellent coordination among the many contractors involved. Cowdin focuses on build a relationship with us. He blends technology and soft-skills on the client side with top-notch contractors on the execution side. In the end we are as delighted with our experience as we are with the results.”
