His attention to details like the upper and lower 'reveal', the unusual shape of the peninsula, including a well designed hidden pantry, giving the cook a zone without interfering with other kitchen activity, emphasizing height that flows out of the living room space,etc. made a huge difference in the result. He also worked well with our contractor. He really listened to my concerns about functionality and turned them into art. He also accepted the constraints like finite amount of money and didn't complain (too much...:-) as well as didn't lose interest because of my 'eclectic' taste in furniture. In the end starting with an architect to give this project initial shape and direction pretty much cured my aversion to remodeling.
