“We worked with John at Stanza Design to build our ensuite bathroom, which involved some structural work too. Would thoroughly recommend, its my favourite room! The balance between choice in design and being guided by someone who knows what they are doing was perfect, the builders appointment were excellent too. Would definitely use again.”

“Brian Hoolahan acted as our principal architect as we embarked on our project to replace our harbour fronted home in Chichester. The location of the property was particularly sensitive as it is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Our brief was for Brian’s practice to design a family home using traditional materials whilst at the same time satisfying some of the highest environmental standards with respect to energy efficiency and material sourcing - including ground source heating and significant reliance of a sustainably sourced oak structure as an alternative to steel. Further, as a resident of Bosham we very much required that our new home was to be sympathetic towards the local environment, being close to Bosham village and its grade 1 listed Anglican church. Brian led all aspects of the design and planning approval process - which included satisfying the requirements of the District and Parish counsils as well as other authorities, including Chichester Harbour Conservancy. Following planning approval, Brian, through his construction company, Harbour Contractors, project managed the build covering all aspects of compliance and certification addressing architectural matters as they arose. We were delighted in choosing Brian’s organisation for our project and were able to benefit from his many years of professional experience as well as his deep architectural knowledge, having developed many projects throughout West Sussex.”

“Fineline Architechs offered us a fantastic service. We live in a Tudor, listed building which required a great deal of renovation and a total revamp of the large parts of the house. Fineline delivered a fabulous design which was both contemporary but also sympathetic to the original ancient building. Both Katie and Chris had great ideas and where a joy to work with. They were also excellent at dealing with our local council and conservation officer to ensure that the designs we submitted would have the highest likelihood of success, which indeed they did as we had the entire programme of works agreed by the planning department. I can not recommend Fineline highly enough and I would definitely use them again.”

“In designing our new kitchen there were two major hurdles – a narrow L shaped room opening into an about to be built orangery; and a husband who wanted high gloss white and handless units. We invested considerable hours in kitchen design shops but felt that what we were getting would look like a laboratory or a dental practitioner. We decided that the designs were too linear and we needed some curves and a friend recommended Johnny Grey. We met with Johnny Grey and suddenly we could see some light at the end of the kitchen design tunnel. He listened to our needs and wishes and produced a set of designs which unquestionably surpassed anything else we had previously come up with or had envisaged. He recommended a series of zones for our kitchen – reception/home office ; high tech prep area; cooking /informal dining. He combined different English woods with concrete; marble with corian and stainless steel ; and they work superbly together . We love our new kitchen / informal dining area and it continues to bring us pleasure after 18 months. It unquestionably has the WOW factor and is admired by all our friends. It also has fantastic storage capacity and all the modern gadgets. We were very involved at all stages and it was a pleasure to work with Johnny and his team. We visited the company making the units and were very impressed with the standard of craftsmanship. All of his team are first class artisans”

“My Estate Agency sold an unmodernised property to Rob for several £ms, who carried out an extensive refurbishment project involving significant planning gain of approximately 1,600 sq ft in a Listed Building. The result was a fantastic garden maisonette with superb reception space, five bedroom suites, a media room and steam room, staff accommodation and superb ambience throughout. When the work was complete, we sold the property for more than twice the amount it was bought for, reflecting the quality of the design and finish.”

“The Cave Cooperative were the architects that designed my newbuild residential annex project in Oxfordshire through the planning process to detailed design. They provided excellent advice on using more natural building materials and came up with innovotive solutions to bridge existing drainage. They were very good through the planning process by helping me get the most out of the 40% volume restrictions in the greenbelt. They are very user friendly and always respond to any queries swifly and with diligence. Paul Harvey at Cave Cooperative has provided an excellent service and I would highly recommend this company particulalrly if you are interested in natural building materials and energy efficient building.”

“As Dev Director of Harbourland Ltd, I engaged John Muir of 4D Studio to design (and obtain Planning) for a complex mixed use scheme (residential, offices, restaurants) on a 130,000 sq,ft 18th Century Docklands tobacco warehouse. The results were truly spectacular and the flats all sold within a month as we were by far the best product on the market. Newham Planning Dept regularly use this development to showcase how to deliver leading design solutions for historic buildings. A great success in every respect and John remains our first port of call on all development projects, large and small.”
