“My husband and I first hired Unger and Mahns in 2000 to build our 5500 Sq. ft. house in Rumson,NJ.The design was classic,sophisticated,tasteful and timeless."Michael and Michael" guided us through the design and construction and were available on site whenever the builder needed them.When we sold the house in 2008,the structural engineer that the buyers hired to inspect the house said it was one of the best built homes he had ever inspected. In 2006,we hired them again to do the plans for our summer home in Cape May, N.J. They designed our fabulous dutch colonial that looks like it is 100 years old.We are consistently told that is it one of the prettiest homes in town and not a day goes by where someone doesn't stop and comment on it.Our builder in CM said that the plans he received from U and M were the most detailed and complete set of plans he had ever worked with. They designed the new Rumson Country Club Pool House.It is a masterpiece! I am a real estate agent and my husband is as type "A" as they come.We are tough customers and pretty demanding.We recommend U and M 100% and feel they are worth their weight in gold.They are not the least expensive in the area but you get what you pay for.They are thorough,knowledgeable and very experienced.”

“We engaged Princeton Design Collaborative to provide design concepts for a small master bathroom addition. The current bathroom configuration was virtually unusable. The two concepts provided were cost effective for the client, and provided an aesthetically appealing design to the front of the home that matched the existing facade. The drawings were extremely complete and detailed as to make the permitting process with the township go smoothly. We look forward to working with John Conroy on future projects, and would highly recommend this company to anyone interested in architectural design concepts and drawings.”

“We hired Primiano Architecture to design an addition for our house. We had no experience dealing with an architect or doing a home improvement project of this magnitude. Primiano Architecture was recommended to us by an acquaintance. From our first meeting with Joe we knew he was the right person. He was honest, intelligent and most importantly he listened and made suggestions. It was a true partnership. Joe worked closely with us throughout design, township approval, choosing a contractor and final approval. We could not be any happier with how the project turned out. “We have worked with Adrienne on 2 projects and have been delighted by her professionalism. Over the past 2 years we have looked to get work done in our house 3 times. Hiring Adrienne as your architect, you will have the confidence that you have someone planning for your space to live in, taking in consideration your lifestyle and taste. Adrienne has an eye for all the details that you (or your contractor, no matter how great) would never think of. She anticipates what will make you happy and makes practical and creative recommendations about it (from small things like the placement of a hook, of a plug , direction of your shower, or wider more structural aspects like the drawing of your cabinets, design of a shower, etc...) all these details make your everyday life much easier and they are worth every penny. Adrienne also set us right from the beginning with realistic expectations for our budget. “We had a wonderful experience working with Rasmussen/Su on a kitchen renovation. Our home was built in 1879, and it had a cramped and dark kitchen. Kevin & Vivian really listened to what mattered to us (having a space that works for an active family and opens the kitchen up to the rest of the first floor) and they were able to incorporate those things into the design. They have experience with historic homes and local regulations and took care of the arduous permit process. They were there during construction when we ran into the unexpected things you discover in an old house. They also helped with the design details and decisions you have to make during a project. We now have an amazing space where everyone gathers to cook, do homework, and just be together.”

“We are very pleased with the result of more than a year's work, starting with pen and paper and a discussion on what we needed in a home, reviewing and editing floor plans, getting to plot plans, elevation views, and ultimately a final set of plans. This was no easy task, considering we were building a new home post-Sandy, at the Jersey Shore, and with flood maps changing during the process, being in dual zoning districts, and with required building heights uncertain. But, finally, we are done (mostly!) Scott, Jack and Bill were all great to deal with, they listened to our needs and wants, and helped us make decisions on the trade-offs you always need to consider when space is limited on the lot and you have a long list of needs and wants. The style of the house is a cape cod, the architectural detail is outstanding and it fits well into the existing neighborhood which is situated one block from the start of the historic district here in Ocean City. Ultimately, we love the house and get compliments on it every single day from strangers walking past and from family and friends who are visiting. So many people have asked us if they can have a tour. Thanks Scott, Jack and Bill for everything.”
