“I am a retired Interior Designer and wanted to work with an architect who was up on the latest improvements in HVAC and plumbing. I had a pretty clear idea of the layout of our new house but needed help deciding on a contractor to hire as well as some creative structural details to make our 1800 sq. ft. single level home work for us as we age without looking like an "old folks home". Haven Design was instrumental in helping us select a contractor and we have been very pleased with the results.”

“We met with Bryan and took him our ideas and design sketches of our future Craftsman home. After several meetings and modifications, he was able to transform them into formal plans that satisfied the City of Blaine and Semiahmoo Association. The home is now in the process of being built, and Bryan has been available as a resource. He has been very accommodating and easy to work with, along with providing a wealth of information and experience.”

“No question, our house was a challenge. Kirsten and D3 were tasked with recreating plans for a 105-year-old house as no blueprints existed... the greater challenge, however, was the Heritage Revitalization Agreement with the City of New Westminster. Along with heritage specialist Elana Zysblat, Kirsten helped to save another house in the Queen's Park neighbourhood. Creative and thoughtful design to maximize space inside, and conservation-sensitive exterior modifications have resulted in a house that has one of the biggest - if not the biggest floor-space ratio in New Westminster. Neighbours have commented that aside from looking sharp and clean, the house generally looks the same from the street... exactly the goal that Kirsten, Elana and the City were trying to achieve. We are very pleased with Kirsten and her enthusiastic, patient and professional approach. When the work required to complete the heritage revitalization process exceeded the original budget, Kirsten put in many extra hours and did not charge us - and offered to perform any additional services at a reduced rate. This is the way to handle the unexpected... thank you, Kirsten! I would be happy to work with her again in the future. When the exterior painting is done, I will post photos...”

“When we decided to do a major renovation/reconstruction of our home we had nothing more than an abstract idea of what we wanted and the process seemed extremely daunting. We had heard wonderful things about Dave from friends, whose home is spectacular, and decided to contact Dave. Dave really listened to us and asked questions that clearly showed he was paying attention to our needs. He took our very abstract idea for our home and proposed inventive design solutions that we would never have imagined. Throughout the design and construction process Dave was extremely responsive, delivering drawings when promised and holding true to his commitments to us. More importantly he was respectful of our questions and immediately addressed any concerns that we might have had. Dave was always mindful of our limited budget, balancing our wish list against what the budget would allow. What seemed like such a daunting experience turned out to be quite wonderful thanks to Dave's extensive knowledge of architecture and design, his professionalism, and the ease of which it is to work with him. Thank you Dave for our lovely new home!”

“After spending 4-5 hours trying to find a certified aluminium roof inspector, I lucked into Apex. Their inspector Burt arrived two days later, on time, did an efficient review of the roof, took pictures of the maintenance that needed doing, and I had a complete report in my inbox the same evening. Apparently roof inspections are not cheap, so prepare yourself.”

“Troy Philp of Millennium Design designed our whole-house remodel as well as a new garage and mudroom. One of the overall changes we wanted was creating universal accessibility throughout. We are particularly pleased with the roll-in shower Troy designed to replace the Jacuzzi tub. We found Troy to be creative and personable as he helped us decide how best to create big and small livable solutions.”
