“We worked with Mark to design our new home. He spent the time with us to understand what we wanted. He incorporated our needs and requirements into various plan options and provided us with information on costs, pros and cons, etc. We had a very complicated project - Mark took the initiative to lead us through the planning a design process, acting at times as a project manager and presenting the plan to the city, other engineers and representing us when needed. He was very easy to work with and very professional. Building a custom home has significant challenges - Mark's help was instrumental in getting the project completed on time.”

“Eugene Sakai stood out far above the pack of the 5 Architectural firms that we investigated to do our total house construction. He was simply the best to deal with, very professional, on time, and took a personal interest in the project, and within budget. We moved in 2 years ago and still love him and the contractor, C.W. Wright in San Carlos. We are pleased to show the house through Eugene Sakai at any time.”

“As first-time remodelers, we weren't sure whether we should consult with an architect or that we could even afford one. We discovered Tony through a mutual friend. Before we met with Tony, we had pared our wants down to the following three items: * Work-from-home office space * Updated & expanded kitchen * Media room to provide our growing kids their own indoor space Our expectations had been boxed in by our 1969 tract home. Tony not only exceeded those expectations, he blew us away with an innovative design that at once met our needs, freed our curbside frontage and interior experience from the tyranny of the cheap tract box, and met all the practical requirements of budget and city regulations. Tony held our hand and supported us through the permitting process. His adaptability and responsiveness saved us thousands of dollars in permit fees. Tony's contacts led us to the perfect builder/contractor. Schedules and budgets were never in question. The few inevitable gotchas and change orders were taken in stride and didn't blow up our budget. In short, we enjoyed our remodeling experience largely because of Tony's influence. We've lived in our new space for 3 years now and we're still happy. Tony was the best thing to happen to us and our remodel.”

“As a designer I work with many architects. I can honestly say none as conscientious, caring, and qualified as Brad is. He and the project architects in his office truly care about their work and know the latest codes and how to make space where there is no space. A designers and homeowners dream. “Bahi and Mariela are truly a unique find and I thank my lucky stars everyday that we discovered them for our home remodel. We added about 1000 sq ft to our 1500 sq ft home, and took down all but the foundation and studs of the initial footprint. Not only did Bahi and Mariela fully integrate the new construction into a seamless floor plan, but every piece of it is so incredibly unique and stunning. They completely designed a new roof that creatively resolves the 8 foot plates from the initial walls to the 9 foot plates of the new construction, and you would never know it as all you see is a gorgeous elevation that is absolutely stunning. I am absolutely in love with the outside of the house. And then the inside...WOW! Our new common space is an open concept with beautiful architectural accents and high ceilings. We wanted open concept, but we also wanted each space to be defined in some way so they designed the most beautiful details in the ceilings above the spaces including vaulted, tray, and crown molding accented elements. The end result is that when people walk in, they often tell us it's one of the best homes they have ever seen. Several have told us it is their dream home and would love to build the same design somewhere. We owe that to Bahi and Mariela for working so diligently to add just the right touches that would make our home beautiful. I feel like I am living in a gem that nobody else could have dreamed up but them. And not only is our house extraordinary, but Bahi and Mariela were the nicest people to work with the whole project. I am so glad we hired them and now have a beautiful home to call ours for years to come. Thank you 360 design studio!!!!”

“We hired Erick Mikiten as the project architect for a major kitchen remodel and some ancillary work on the entrance porches to the house in 1994/95. We wanted to expand the kitchen, remodel the interior to include new cabinets and an island, provide a new seating area in an addition at the rear of the house, and improve what was then an awkward connection between the kitchen and a rear bedroom. Erick came up with a very creative solution to the space constraints in the existing kitchen that resulted in a much more spacious kitchen with a larger island than we had anticipated. The addition on the rear of the house not only provided a seating area with views into the rear garden that we use on a daily basis, but included a very attractive raised ceiling and exterior architecture that continue to receive admiring comments from friends and visitors almost 20 years later. Erick's firm also recommended a new color scheme for the exterior of the house, which we adopted. Even now, from time to time complete strangers stop by to ask about the specifications of the paint colors because they find it so attractive and are considering doing something similar. Throughout the project Erick made great efforts to understand what we were looking for and present alternative options to achieve this, going through multiple iterations of the design as we refined the concept together, then producing a final design that satisfied our budget constraints. During construction, Erick visited the site on a regular basis and worked closely with the contractor to make sure that the work was being done in conformance with the design.”
Lorin Hill, Architect

“We were terrified to finally remodel. Now we're halfway through the job, and I'm wondering how it could possibly be going so well? The answer: Lorin Hill, Architect, and his team. Ours is not a small job - we've excavated a basement; moved the kitchen, downstairs powder room, laundry room (which went from 1st to 2nd floor); and moved a lot of walls and reconfigured closets to dramatically improve our space. We didn't know where to bookend the project, and could see endless options for how to improve our home. We interviewed multiple architects - familiar names that had signs up on the best streets. It was immediately clear that Lorin was the architect for us - he took in the important character of the home (and setting/land, neighboring homes, and street), he saw how we could shape the project to make the most of our resources and opportunities, and his communication style was unmatched by larger and smaller specialty firms alike. He's insightful, funny, has decades of experience in his craft, and (this is where Lorin really hits it out of the park) his design eye is so excellent that he is saving us from hiring a host of other professionals to make our finished result truly sing. In some ways I'd love to keep Lorin Hill our little secret - I can count on only one hand the service providers that so exceed my expectations that their fees don't seem high enough for what they provide (note the design comment above, and he's smoothed enough husband/wife remodel debates - helping us each see logic - that we'll happily enjoy our home for years to come, marriage intact). If you're lucky enough to find Lorin Hill with a space in his schedule that fits your project, grab it. If we ever win the lottery and have unlimited funds, we'll be back to take up all the rest of Lorin's time.”
