“I have worked with Jeff McMahon on many design/build projects. He is attuned to working with the topography and the sun when siting his houses. He consults closely with his clients when planning their modernist houses, and finds sustainable solutions for them. He listens to their needs and does as much as possible on paper and computer before breaking ground. When construction starts, Jeff and his crew are focused and efficient. The result is a track record of many striking and beautiful homes, as well as extremely happy homeowners. I can’t recommend Jeffrey McMahon Design + Build highly enough.”

“Kim Hoover designed our house. During the process, she continued to turn challenges into opportunities to improve the project. Working off an existing sub-optimal foundation, she created a plan to maximize a great view, nestle the house into the landscape, and turned what would have been a dreary basement into a sun-filled room. She worked well with clients -- always listening throughout the process -- and with builders and contractors. Kim takes responsibility for her work, is on time and on budget. Her aesthetic sense is classic but imaginative. She's resourceful about new products on the market as well as time-honored techniques to make a house a showplace. In each stage of the process, Kim added value. We cannot wait to work on another project with her.”

“If you are looking for an architect, look no further than Chad at SOON Architecture. We did not know what to expect and were a little intimidated by the whole process at first. We had never worked with an architect before and were not sure how this would go. Well, our first meeting with Chad, we knew we were in good hands and he was the right person for the job. He explained everything to us, with as much or as little detail as we needed. He was also so patient with all of my questions (and I had a lot of them). He always had a smile and was very flexible with our needs. He met with the contractors on-site to walk them through the project and was always available by phone to answer their questions as well to get the right materials and specifications for their quote. We will work with Chad again in the future and we highly recommend him for all of your architectural needs. (Tusten, NY)”

“We worked with J_spy Architecture on a complete gut renovation and combination of our 2 bedroom apartment with the neighboring 1 bedroom unit in Battery Park City Manhattan. Jason and Paola were amazing to work with, and guided us every step of the way. From our initial meetings on reimaging what the space could be, to delivery of the final product, J_spy ensured that no item (no matter how small) was overlooked. They created a clean, modern and most importantly functional apartment which perfectly met the needs of our growing family. While construction can be a stressful undertaking, Jason and Paola made the process smooth and enjoyable with their ongoing construction management and quality control. “I worked with Jeff for one year planing the House in Poughkeepsie, New York. The details on the plans where exceptional. My firm built the house which took two and a half years to complete. The customer was delighted with the final Product. The proportions of the rooms where perfect. The mouldings and trim spectacular. Every time I drive by I say this is the perfect house for me and my family. Oh that's right it is my house.”

“I engaged Harry to develop plans for a redesign/rebuild of a detached garage/studio. I very much enjoyed working with Harry. He listened to what I was looking for, both stylistically and with respect to the practicable use of the space, and designed a structure that I'm very happy with. It was an incremental and collaborative process and the final product is something I like visually and that also fulfills competing requirements (storage space, working space and guest space). The final plans look great. Everything was done on a timely basis and I thought fairly priced, especially given the quality of the work. I'm looking forward to turning them into a finished structure over the summer of 2019.”

“Mr.. Pedranti has been the architectural consultant on a basement renovation which included drawings to increase closet space and window seat design and on kitchen renovation. His suggestions have been focused on energy saving, and material selection. His knowledge of energy efficient design is amazing. I wish he could design a new house for me , but renovartions will have to suffice for the time being.”

“We worked with Blejer Architecture to renovate our entire home (cellar, basement, 1st floor). He was amazing. A great communicator, extremely patient, professional, and collaborative. He delivered everything promptly, and had quick turnaround times on all of our ad hoc requests. Our house is old and wasn't in great condition so he was fantastic at helping us troubleshoot and find solutions that were within our budget, while also making sure we were following DOB standards.”
