“Chris has unusual talent for developing great designs. Our remodel won the best remodel in class in a recent contest in the Portland area. Everyone loves our house. We started with a typical chopped up ranch style home with small rooms which he combinied into two large rooms with defined spaces that work for two or twenty people.”

“I have had the pleasure of working with Erich on several projects throughout the years. On building projects, hundreds of problems will arise and how they are dealt with determines the true professionalism of an architect. Erich has never missed a beat on solving the problems with me on custom door and window orders and has come up with very creative solutions. It would simplify Erich's skills to just say he is detail oriented, he goes far beyond just details. He looks at the job as a whole and somehow manages to break every component down into sub assemblies and how they interact with each other. Not just how it's to be designed and built, but does the item work aesthetically in the overall design. Simply put, he is a pro, an absolute pro. “Departure came out to our property after the 2013 Build-It-Green tour and talked to us about potential of building an ADU. A year later, we decided to move forward with building an ADU and again, contacted Dan Lajoie. He came out to our property with the notes and ideas discussed the previous year and was willing to spend a long time discussing our hopes for our ADU. He was able to take our ideas and create a beautiful space that works perfectly for us and our property. Throughout the beginning of the process Dan was available to answer our questions, he spent time sharing pictures and showing us ideas as well as meeting with us regularly to look at his progress. He always took our perspective into account and reworked some of the drafts to ensure we were getting what we wanted; but he also had fantastic ideas that we had not thought of and did a great job inserting his personal character into the project. Overall, we have been really impressed with Dan's patience and his ability to turn a small space into something so functional and beautiful.”

“Pat did a fantastic job of designing a bump-out for my basement remodel to accommodate the new stairs I had to put in to meet code (very old house). I could not visualize what was going to be done to that part of my home and overall remodel until she walked me through the design, and then ---boom, it hit me! Light, windows, beautiful space utilization and best of all ---it looks like it has always been a part of the house ---does not look like a add-on at all. She was wonderful to work with, listened to what I wanted, and then provided a design to exceed what I thought I could have. She provided great drawings for the contractor and was just really good to work with. I have recommended her to many people and just can't say enough good things about her work and abilities!”

“I own a small residential remodel company (Old School Renovations, Inc.) in Portland, OR. Marty has provided basic permit plans and full design services for several of my clients. Marty is as eager to work on the removal of a kitchen wall as he is a full two room addition. He has a great eye for detail (duh) and his x-ray vision comes in handy when pre-planning structural changes to a home. I never hesitate to refer Marty to a client regardless of the size of job. You'll love him.”
