“We recently engaged in an extensive renovation of our condominium in Miami Beach. We interviewed several designers. Our goal was a modern home that was also warm and welcoming. And someone who we were confident could manage the project while we were away from Miami for several months. We wanted someone who would take the time to understand our preferences, style, and what we were trying to achieve with the space. The company’s website particularly caught our eye because the projects conveyed seemed very customized - not cookie cutter “Miami modern”. They felt designed, unlike others’ we interviewed where projects looked like they were purchased and lifted directly from a furniture showroom. The process from hiring Acra Designs to first sketch drawings went pleasingly fast. Ms. Acra also provided contractors she had worked with in the past and arranged interviews with them. She previewed all budgets and offered suggestions. And when we selected a contractor, she worked closely with him throughout the process to ensure our ideas were realized. We wanted to be involved in the selection process of materials and furniture, and we made it clear at what level (eg. show us 3-4 top choices, not 30 or 40), and the communication throughout was continuous, professional, and she was always available - and very patient when we couldn’t come a decision on certain things. We welcomed our trips with her to select furniture, window treatments, etc - she made it enjoyable and not drudgery. Like any construction project, there were unanticipated issues that arose - and that is where Ms. Acra truly shined. She worked through all issues professionally with the various vendors and contractors, keeping things moving on the project. We also learned so much about design along the way. She was generous with her time and ideas, and at the end, we have a home that was beyond what we ever envisioned possible. Friends are amazed and wow’d by how she was able to transform an ordinary looking condominium into a sophisticated space, but also very much home. While we do not plan to move anytime soon, if we did we would absolutely use Acra Designs again - regardless if it’s a house, condo, and location. Even with that great recommendation, we met with a number of architects/designers in Miami but after meeting Errez, there was no question they were the firm for us. The Errez Design Team (Katie, Andrea & Ruben) met us at our home where they spent a good two hours talking to us about our lifestyle, our design likes and dislikes, as well as what we were envisioning for the space (kitchen) we wanted redone. They came back a week or so later with four great options which made it hard to choose! The end result was exactly what we had envisioned…a practical and workable space that is also beautiful.
