“I highly recommend Lisa Albers, who designed my master bathroom. This was not a simple remodel project -- she helped transform an enclosed unheated porch into a master bathroom. Lisa’s expertise took the bathroom plan from nice to exceptional. Lisa understood my personal taste, explained suggestions and was a collaborative problem solver. Hiring a professional was such a good investment. Lisa took much of the stress out of making so many decisions, selecting the tile alone would have been daunting, with Lisa’s expertise she made this decision enjoyable. Lisa was very accessible and made time to meet in person and responded quickly to questions. I certainly will use Lisa on future projects and already have recommended her services to family and friends.”

“Our home is 105 years old. Annie helped with kitchen and bathroom renovations including color, lighting and hardware choices. She helped select wallpaper for the powder bath and front hall and choose fabrics to recover chairs in the master bedroom, dining room and living room. Finally, she helped us purchase new blinds for the bedrooms and choose fabric for roman shades for the family room which she had made and installed. Annie was wonderful. She presented a well thought out plan for colors etc. and was very sensitive to our reactions. If we did not like a color, she accepted our decision graciously. She is very well organized and clearly presented the costs associated with our project before we began. She managed and coordinated all aspects of work including the ordering of fabric etc., pick up, recovering and delivery of furniture. I will happily use Annie in the future if we do any further work.”

“I have worked with Laura Bischoff of Metropolis Design Group on two occasions--both with my 1924 family home in Tangletown in South Minneapolis and with my "empty-nest" modern condo on the river downtown. I loved working with her both times and highly recommend her. She is fun, kind, smart and great to be around and brings a wide variety of skills and a depth of knowledge that dramatically increases what is possible. She is hands-on--painting a lovely graphic element to make a focal point of a set of kitchen cupboards, for example--and also can access whatever other resources (both people and materials) that are needed. She has great ideas to extend a budget, a wonderful eye for color and texture. With both my homes, she helped create a sophisticated and wonderfully comfortable background for my life. I look forward to working with her again!”

“I first received Laurie's name from a highly respected friend who was having Laurie assist her in the design of a new house. I contacted her for my re-model and she came over for an interview and a survey of my house. After discussing my plans, ideas, and budget, she presented me with plans and options. The renovation proceeded quickly and Laurie maintained her oversight. The results were fantastic, but bittersweet, as I am moving from this beautiful house, however, a sale was accomplished within a week, in no small part due to the magic Laurie wrought. The improvements more than paid for themselves and the new owners love all the upgrades. I only wish that I had met Laurie earlier so that I could enjoy the beautiful house for a little while longer!”

Our latest project was our master bath. She picked tile, cabinetry, lighting, colors, etc. She also guided us with the general layout of the area. We couldn't be happier.”

“Jane Marie did an awesome job redecorating our Master Bedroom. We wanted a relaxing master suite and she more than accompished our goal. Her knowledge of color, texture and fabrics was excellent. She was very quick to pick up on our likes, dislikes, style and personality. Her selection of contractors (electrician and carpenter) was great. We even used the electrician for a different project on our own. The project was finished within the deadlines that we set. She was very realistic when setting the deadlines while keeping in mind we were dealing with many items that needed to be ordered and custom made. We were unrealistic in the budget we set for our bedroom project given our taste and selection of items. We purchased everything new in our bedroom during this project, including bed, chairs, tables, artwork and accessories. Jane Marie was awesome at saving us money whenever she could. She was also great at finding low cost and washable items for our bedding due to the fact that we have two Golden Retrievers that are in our room at night. We would highly recommend Jane Marie and Embellshment Design Studio to anyone and if we ever do a redecorating project again, we plan on working with her again.”
