“A mud room might not be the most popular room in central France but with acres of farmed land, muddy tracks and forests around the house, we could not do without. we had discovered the truly American Mud Room upon visiting friends in NYC. When we started on an all out refurbishment and repurposing of a former oven building, a sheep stables and a farmer,s lodge, we required the architect to include a mud room. it took sometimes for the architect to grasp the concept but there it was on the drawings. It was built and tested and works beautifully. As any other room of the house we embarked on the decorating part and that we don't subcontract out; this is what we like doing and we keep it to ourselves. what to do with the kids muddy boots. in winter a mix of snow, mud and manure would slowly melt on the red ceramic tiles. in door slippers would get soiled and scarves hastily dropped on the floor would be wet and dirty in no time. Houzz was our immediate reflex to address that and soon the boot tray popped up on the screen. Ballard design offered just the functionality and the design for this ubiquitous device and the service that i need. yes we require a specific service. we live in the middle east, we use Houzz USA and decorate a mud room in France. Most professionals on Houzz USA do not deliver outside USA. Ballard does. but i realized they don't deliver to France. luckily, they deliver to UAE. so we ordered the boot tray, received in Dubai and took it with us with in our luggage when we next travelled to France. worked very well. thank you Ballard Design”
