“Dessie from Slick Designs provided the design and assisted in picking out the floor and wall tile for my 2nd bathroom. We replaced a shower stall, toilet and sink with a jetted tub, separate shower, toilet and sink. The room was enlarged by knocking out a wall and utilizing a closet on the other side. The total cost of the remodel was aprx $15,000.00. Dessie provided excellent design knowledge and gave me confidence to believe in my own choices as well. Even though we were in separate towns, she was able to come to my home and grasp my "style" She created the most beautiful room in my house. She was on schedule, on budget and a joy to work with. “K'lissa Garrett, with the Ethan Allen store in Des Moines, was wonderful to work with in choosing the new sofa for our living room. I had an idea of what I wanted, but the DSM store no longer carried the floor model I had seen a couple of years ago. K'lissa's attention to detail in describing, and showing, the various options available helped me to choose exactly what I wanted. For the fabric, I wanted a linen upholstery. I had no idea there were so many choices. I thought I had found something similar to what I had in mind, but as I walked out of the store, I saw a chair covered in a fabric that better fit what I was looking for. When I returned to find her, instead of rolling her eyes at me (after all the fabric samples I had pulled out!), she got busy and found the swatch that matched the chair and that was exactly what I wanted. I settled on a Belgian linen in a flecked cream color. She also helped me choose the type of cushion that I wanted; I sat on a lot of different cushions that day. I finally decided on the more expensive combo... with down. She was right; I love, love, love napping on my new sofa because of those cushions. K'Iissa helped with the choice of the furniture leg. She made some suggestions, then talked me through my top 2 choices until I decided on the Northwoods turned leg. Perfect. I had dragged my feet ordering the sofa because I hated waiting for so long before it arrived. Plus, it was an expensive investment...what if it didn't look anything like I wanted? P-Shaw!!! It is exactly what I envisioned. It is perfect. K'lissa kept me frequently updated on the process of my order, and the sofa arrived almost a month ahead of the scheduled date. The crew on the delivery truck was fast, and fastidious. They even stayed to help in finding the right placement of the sofa. The EA workmanship on the sofa is incredible. It is worth every penny. And K'lissa...she is the one to seek out if you get a chance to shop at Ethan Allen of Des Moines. She is down-to-earth, she knows her product, and she offered me a pleasant and professional shopping experience that got the job done.”
