“Working with Shelly Abbott has been a super experience on two fronts. She is excellent at bringing home owners into the design process, capturing and enhancing each person’s desired moods or viewscapes. We had an unrealistically long wish list of cacti and flowering desert plants. Shelly incorporated them all into the final product, yielding different but integrated panoramas for each aspect of the house. Second, she produced a yard that is vibrantly alive every month of the year. A profusion of flowers evolves through the seasons, with new little pleasures popping out all the time. As a result, we have humming birds and butterflies year ‘round, flocks of birds, even a visiting bobcat. Shelly’s landscape makes outdoor living focused around our veranda a true joy.”

“Payless Landscape team did an excellent job. They have installed turf in the most recent project. It was quite a big job to remove old grass and take out sprinklers. Very satisfied. The very last thing they did was take scissors and trim the edge of turf. They made sure it was perfect. I highly recommend Payless Landscape. Will be using them for all my landscape needs. They are five stars!!!!!!”

“I had the opportunity to work with Allen on 2 occasions. The first time was when I was building my house and wanted him to design my patio and landscaping. The patio area was small but he used every inch of the space so wisely that it actually seems large now. My landscaping was exactly what I wanted too! Planters, plants and lighting fit in and blend so well with the environment and is very pleasing to the eye. Once I saw how nice his design worked for our house my husband and I asked him to come back and add more plants and lighting and more trees because everything looked so good it made us want more. He once again surprised us! His creativity and knowledge of plants and vision of what we wanted turned out amazing. He clearly listens to his clients and turns your vision into reality. Thank you Allen for making our outside living area a dream come true!”

“Susanne O'Trimble was a pleasure to work with. She is organized and thoughtful. She kept every appointment, including being with us to pick out all the large rocks added to the landscape. She listened. Susanne has a diverse and in depth knowledge of plants best suited to thrive in our garden. She was able to guide us to decisions which now allow us to enjoy a peaceful exterior living space from both inside and outside of our home. Her contacts in the landscape design and supply businesses in the community were invaluable. She created her design in such a way that the garden is ever changing, offering subtle changes with the seasons.”

“Kathryn Prideaux took what would have been a blah design (well, basically a hose I'd laid out some gravel!) for a pool in our yard and turned it into something that is going to be fabulous. We have very limited space, so the right layout was important. She was able to come up with a workable design concept remarkably quickly--solving problems I had been wrestling with for months. Not only that, but she's a consummate professional: very communicative, always on time, and willing to work with our budget and constraints. I highly recommend her to anyone. ”

“Santa Rita Landscaping (SRL for the remainder) did a great job in all aspects of our project: design, scheduling, quality of work, follow through and project close-out. Before finding SRL, my wife and I had three other landscapers who do a lot of work in our area come out and quote the project on our property. While most of these were professional encounters the quality of the work, the design aesthetics and the final prices (really the combination of the three) left a little to be desired. While looking for some design ideas on Houzz, we started building an ideabook of Arizona / southwestern garden spaces that tended to be more functional (we have a 1 yr old and two 70 pound dogs) and a little more modern than the standard and discovered that SRL was the primary example that we both liked most. After our initial meeting where we were able to lay out our priorities and actually view materials. A short while later the designers at SRL had done their work and we visited again to review the design. The folks there were very accommodating to my wife and myself. We made some on the fly changes which they priced for us before we left that day. SRL is a good sized operation, they're not just three guys and a truck; I say this because I was hugely impressed by being able to schedule only a few weeks, rather than months, in the future for the project start. This was also a big help to us because they were able to do our entire project in 2 weeks, whereas, the competition had quoted us 8-10 weeks. Putting it all in a summary, we love the design and the quality of craftsmanship, we greatly appreciated their ability to schedule their crews very well and get things done rapidly, we maybe paid a slight premium for the work (though they weren't the highest bidder), but the quality, professionalism and rapidity of the work really was worth it. One final comment, about two months after the project we were eating out and the co-owner was in the restaurant. He came over to our table to check on us and how everything was looking...great customer oriented business.”
