“Hawk construction and Jim Poggermeyer in particular, were willing to help us with a very challenging situation. The previous construction had been poorly planned and had deteriorated into an unsafe condition. Jim did thorough research to devise an excellent plan that retained our esthetics and maintained function. They then planned a very efficient, clean and thorough fabrication complete with very complete finishing. We are very happy with the result and would hire them again! Dr Gil Schmidtke”

“We used Basement Edge (Marty Shelburne and Todd Tretev) for our basement remodel. They were great. We knew that if we put the bathroom where it was plumbed it would be a mistake from a design standpoint and they were the only contractor who said -- yes, you're right and went the extra step to help us put it in the best possible location. We worked with their designer who had great suggestions for wall color, carpet and placement of cabinets, lighting, etc. I'd use them again without question. We did take 3 bids when we started our project and they were not the least expensive but certainly competitive and their advise was invaluable.”

“I had numerous items that I needed completed. Jim completed everything on time, within the estimate he had provided and did an excellent job. If I noticed anything that I had a question about or wanted adjusted he did it without any issue or complaint and if it impacted my budget or timeline he let me know. He was also very helpful in coming up with suggestions and alternatives on how things could be done. I had him work on my barn doors - 2 doors that were on the same track. The barn doors had been installed by someone else and when the doors were together they didn’t hang straight and were only wide enough to just cover the opening, the doors were missing a door stop in the middle, so unless you stopped the doors exactly in the middle there would be a gap on one side or the other. They had also installed guides on the bottom that I did not like as they stuck out into the opening and were screwed to the hardwood floor. Jim added sections to both sides of both doors, so that it looked like it was part of the pattern of the door and was meant to be there. The addition of the sections provided the coverage for the opening that I wanted. He put in stops for both the middle and the end so that the doors would properly stop. He took off the old guides on the bottom and installed guides that were attached to the wall and didn't stick out into the opening. He also filled in the holes in the hardwood floor so that I can't tell where they had been and leveled the doors so that they hung straight. I am now very happy with my barn doors! He also installed knobs and handles on all my cabinets and drawers in the kitchen, laundry room and bathrooms. He listened to what I was looking for, offered me a couple of suggestions on the style and then installed them and they are great. He moved some towel racks and he did a great job. I can't tell on the wall where the towel rack used to be. I was very impressed with how well everything was done and would definitely use him again.”

“We recently downsized into a much smaller home which created numerous design challenges. I have never hired a professional interior designer but I knew I was out of my league and contacted Jen at Motif Design Solutions. Jen has done a wonderful job listening and designing around my priorities and lifestyle. She made sure to incorporate all my favorite photos, accessories and key pieces of furniture into her her beautiful design to create a personal and cohesive room! Jen's recommendation to remove our kitchen table and replace it with a beautiful hickory bar top has transformed our very small kitchen into a functional, unique and livable area large enough to accommodate family and friends. Jen is very responsive and communicates with me during every phase of the design process. She has made sure we stayed within our budget and her pricing structure is set up so I can not only afford her services but I'm also getting the best quality furniture and accessories available. We are still several weeks away from completing the first phase of our remodel and I can't wait to see the finished results and start on the next! Jen and Motif Design has made this an exciting, affordable and creative experience. Photos coming soon!”

“Kevin repaired our mailbox, which was about to fall off its post. He pulled up two steel stakes that I had driven into the ground with a sledge hammer 12 years ago, and no one else could pull up. He adjusted some doors that had been messed up when the house started sagging a little, because we had a bad builder originally, who left a support out of one end. He removed a torn screen from the screen door in front, after repairing that door so it closes and latches correctly again, and he's getting that re-screened for us. And he's working up bids for some more work. Honest, affordable and competent! The 3 things we value most in a tradesman like this!”
