They were responsive during the quotation process and carefully reviewed the scope of the estimate. “I believe that this company might be an internet scam. Almost four months ago I gave them a 1/2 down payment to manufacture doors for me. They are now one month late delivering them and are not responding at all to my requests for information. Since writing the above review, I have received my doors. So, Kestrel is NOT an internet scam. The good news is that the doors are absolutely beautiful, perfectly engineered, and of the highest quality. The parts are solid and to spec. They exceeded my expectations by a long shot. The bad news is that my 3 month work order took 5 months to fill and, until the sales manager contacted me directly (because I became a publicly disgruntled customer by posting the first two sentences of this review), communications with the company were incomplete, terse, and unsatisfactory. I felt that I was being treated like an idiot until Jim, the sales manager, took over communications with me. The delays required that I reschedule my construction work three times. If you can find someone in the company to keep you up-to-date, answer your questions clearly, and treat you professionally, the quality of the work makes dealing with the scheduling problems worth it.”

“Replace windows in kitchen and three season room. I phoned the company and received an estimate the same day. The gentleman was patient while I helped describe the window to be replaced. It took time for him to find an order that was 15 yrs old but he did accomplish the task. He made me feel competent in my efforts to find the windows I needed and helped me place the order and arrange a convenient time to have them installed.”

They were the only company that actually recommended just replacing the windows (they had lost their seal), not the entire casement, which was a substantial savings, better for the environment, and less hassle for me as a homeowner. “My wife finally got the granite counter top that she had always wanted. We were waiting on the backsplash to be installed when we noticed that the old kitchen window was fogging up and falling apart. It could no longer be opened. We wanted to replace the window before the tile was installed, so that the tile could fit perfectly with the new window. We had a few window providers come out and give us estimates. This kitchen window had an odd shaped elipse eyebrow (so we learned, as it just looked like a circle to us) over the top of it. One major window provider came out and told us that it couldn't be done, as they don't make them like that any longer. They offered us one of their standard eyebrows, which would have made the window look different. Another company would have ordered a semi-circle, which would have been a disaster had they come out and attempted to install it. Then Mak came out from Zen Windows Philadelphia and told us that he could have the eyebrow custom made. We could have gone with a different eyebrow option and saved a lot of money, but we wanted the new window to look the same as the old one did, so we chose to spend the extra money to get it right. I'm sure that this custom window nearly killed Mak trying to get the way we wanted it, but he went out of his way to make the customer happy. How often do you hear that in todays world? The bottom windows were standard casements, and were well built reasonably priced windows compared to the other providers. Even with the custom window, Zen Windows Philadelphia had delivered the window in a quicker time than that major widow company had estimated. Mak was accessible whenever I had a question, and after the installation, he made sure that my wife and I were happy and satisfied with the product and service. AND, we didn't have to pay a dime until the work was done and we were satisfied with it! It was a pleasure to work with Mak at Zen Windows Philadelphia. All companies should be so easy to work with. They should all follow this model! When the windows were available, the installer contacted us to set up a date and time for the installation. Before the agreed upon date, we received a call that we would have to reschedule, as there was an issue with the casement windows. The casement windows were damaged in shippment and they had to reorder them. They arrived within a week and we rescheduled the appointment. I was told the installers would be out at 10am. They arrived at exactly 10am! They were friendly and helpful in explaining the whole process. They worked quickly and when it was installed it looked like it had looked before, only now the window was cleaner and easier to open. The custom elipse was dead on. The window now looks FANTASTIC!!! We have a house that is almost 15 years old. The original builder put in old designed wood windows that don't open easily and can blow out a candle with the draft they produce in the winter. When we rebuild some funds (granite counter tops aren't cheap) we will look to replace the other 25 windows. When we do that we will be calling Mak at Zen Windows Philadelphia, as I couldn't ask for a better experience, for a better price. If you are looking to replace your windows, I HIGHLY recommend Mak and Zen Windows Philadelphia!”
