CAESAR STONE
Comments (6)Caesarstone is a similar product to Corian. It is an acrylic based product...so it's plastic. For counter tops and showers it can be great. For flooring, unless they came out with a new product and I didn't notice, too slick. Benefits are that it is a repairable surface, unlike Formica, that it is seamless, once glued up and finished, it can be stacked to do undermount sinks and farmhouse style sinks and comes in big sheets so doing a surround is easier. Downside? It scratches and can burn or scorch if a hoy pan is set on it, some solvents affect it, make lying it, some people insist on using it for a cutting board (even though it contains minerals for its color). But those usually can be fixed...it is repairable. It is not cheap. Some standard granites are comparable in price. Hope this helps!...See MoreSingaporean Houzzer? Say Hi!

Comments (13)Look up Forbo Flooring. I think it comes out of Europe. Its a product with " green " credentials and whilst it is used extensively in hospitals and industrial centres it is extremely strong and hard wearing. I think with other good strong design elements in a room a vinyl floor can easily be pulled off as dynamic and urban. Used a lot in say Denmark and Sweden for example with product longevity in mind & positive if you are also environmentally conscious. I am currently looking at Forbo vinyl to be laid in our sunroom, utility room, pantry and entrance way as it is practical, easy to clean and with a great colour can provide a lot of impact. And whilst it can be hard to walk on & can be viewed sometimes as cold visually I think a rug/rugs can remedy this in the colder months. Vinyl & cork went out of fashion a couple of decades ago and they are now popular again for good reason. I hope this gives you confidence in your current ID :)...See MoreIndustrial vs Scandinavian
Comments (3)Hi Jason, When juxtaposed, these are two very contrasting elements. Industrial is usually cold and harsh, while Scandinavian tends to exude warmth and softness. Here's a write up on Industrial interiors: http://www.impressiveinteriordesign.com/modern-industrial-interior-design-definition-ideas/ "Perhaps born out of necessity in trying to convert old or abandoned warehouses, factories and barns into spaces conducive to urban living, this design style celebrates engineering and mechanical ingenuity like little else." And here's a quick one on how to create a Scandinavian interior: https://www.decorilla.com/online-decorating/scandinavian-interior-design-tips/ "With a focus on simplicity, minimalism and functionality, this design movement which emerged in the 1950s has added an appreciation for craftsmanship and understated elegance in homes." All the best for your new place!...See Moremontana88
