Small bedroom dilemma!

I purchased this bed for my daughter. She is 11 and wants a Paris theme bedroom ... My concern is space and how to decorate... Any help is appreciated... The pics after the bed are pics of her bedroom now... ( she is getting too old for its current decorated state.)

I would paint above the chair rail a pail pink and below black with white polka dots or vertical stripes

Wow lots of windows. That is good and I love the bay window in the room. Floor looks beautiful as well. Is there a solid wall that the bed can go on, like on the wall to the left of the picture? Also I would staple backout to the window with the roman shade and then place a highboy, armoire or large peice of furniture in front that would cover the whole window and no one from the inside will know. You do put a roller blind inside the window pulled down so no one from the outside will know either. This will give you storage and make the room more functional. I would then place a desk in the bay for a great place to sit and write or a comfortable chair with table and lamps to read. Please post pictures of all sides of the room as that would be helpful with suggestions.

chemayne I like the white bunks. Another idea with the bunks could be to have the bottom bunk coming out crossways so there is space for a small desk under the top bunk. Is the study area for your kids or yourself? 1 - This is quite bulky but has two beds and a small study area. 2 - The 2nd is quite a big installation but deals with most of your issues. 3 - I like how the bottom bunk has a trundle for sleep overs.

Herring bone is beautiful but expensive to install. Teak is a little darker than oak so if the room is small then you will want to work with the lightest wood = oak. Oil finish will offer low gloss with a beautiful silky/velvety appearance that keeps the wood looking very natural. Easy to repair by the homeowner if scratches occur. Low traffic areas (like bedrooms) can have finish reapplied every few years...depending on wear. A low gloss polyurethane will do the same thing...but some people complain of "foot prints" being visible on the matte poly finish. Turns out the oils from the skin/socks is shinier than the matte finish = foot prints.

No lah, it's important your hubby has his own relaxation area just like you'd have your lounge area. :) Sometimes we need to have our own spaces. Does your hubby not want the entertainment system to be in the living room? If you're worried about the sight of electronics marring your decor, your ID should be able to come up with clever spaces/tricks to store consoles and hide wires. Here's the arrangement in my home: our tv, soundbar, subwoofer and PS4 are in the living room. Having them in the living room comes in useful for guests if we all want to watch a movie, or if they sometimes want to have a go at the PS4 (I sometimes play too!). In our bedroom, we have a Wi-Fi speaker (that integrates with the sound system in the living room) and a PC with a huge desktop monitor for my hubby's PC games or general computer usage. But all the appliances are not an eyesore at all because they're sleek and my hubby is very neat when it comes to cable management. Anyway, think about your routine and imagine yourselves using the spaces you want to create to get a better idea of how to create them. :)

So many things you can do- fabric, framed pictures, etc with a Parisian motif. Wall decals are quick and easy, and can be changed when she decides that she's outgrown that theme.

A soft pink (or mauve) with touches of black and grey. A chandelier and lots of layering for the bedding. Add youthful vintage French prints and a pillow. When she gets a older it's easy to switch the more youthful prints to fashion themed instead, which may suit a teenager. houzz=
