Marble are both non-porous thus it would cause etching and corrosion. Besides that, marble are high maintenance materials. Marble requires proper care and maintenance. Acid should never be used on marble as it shall loose its shine. Marble should be regularly polished over a period of time to give it a new look. If proper precautions are not taken the marble becomes yellowish in colour. Italian marble is usually very soft and prone to cracks. Proper resins have to be used to make the surface strong and solid and avoid further cracks. Proper sealants should be used in marble flooring as the marble is highly porous and prone to staining. It absorbs stains very quickly especially kitchen stains hence are not appropriate for kitchen counter tops. Hi Yuxian! Think about what style you're going for as you would want your paint colours to complement the furnishings to come. Also, what mood do you want to create for your whole house/each room? For instance, yellows are uplifting and cheery while greens are usually restful. Browse online for 'paint colour ideas' and save a collection of photos that appeal to you. You're likely to find great decor ideas at the same time! With that particular part of the house pictured above though, my advice is to make the most of the precious daylight coming through that window (there's just never enough sunlight in my flat! RIP, all our plants that once lived) and have this room painted in lighter hues. It's uplifting stepping in to a bright and airy home. Ultimately, follow your heart and if you love a colour, choose it!

I am planning a kitchen remodel, and I would like to fit a 33" double wall oven cabinet, 24" pantry cabinet, and 36" refrigerator (with 1.5" end panel) plus the 36" doorway into the dining room on a wall that is 132.5" long. I have had a few kitchen designers offer the following configurations: 1) Oven next to fridge (it's a double oven, not a single as pictured)- requires shifting doorway to dining room 6" to the right from it's current location 2) Oven in corner opening into kitchen- requires shifting the doorway to the dining room 3" to the left from current location 3) Oven in corner orientation flipped to side- no adjustment to dining room doorway needed Here is an overview of the entire layout, for more details Which option (if any) do you think would work best in the space and why? Hi all, Would like some suggestions regarding the wall colour on either side of the white panel. ( brown wall in the picture ) I have high ceilings and get a great amount of light. Was thinking should I go dark with deep navy, but not sure. Or should I stick to safe colours? Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you!
