maybe a high upholstered banquette directly across from the kitchen? It will create a nice definition of space and can fell very luxurious. A banquette is also a great space saver. and often seats more people than a standard chair at a table If you use a long pedestal table you can slide it under the seat of the banquette when not in use. That leaves a wider path for you to get to the living room area by the windows.

Go with the leather that is a shade lighter that the floors. Otherwise it could get lost in blur of grey. Use accent colors in the lamp shades,wall art and throws. I also like the white table better. The metal table is more industrial. Than the style you are going for.

I would not recommend tall chairs in a dining room. Dinner is meant to be lingered over and tall chairs are rather uncomfortable for an evening meal in my opinion. Works for bar, breakfast and lunch.
