need help with a long-narrow living/dining area

i will be moving into an apartment with a long-narrow living/dining area.
it's 3.5 meters wide and 7 meters long.

the attached picture of the living/dining area is taken from the entrance. the kitchen is immediately to the left. the right is one long wall.

i need help on the furniture layout.

I would just make sure that your seating allows people to look out the windows and try not to put anything big, dark or heavy in front of them.

The dining furniture should be near/towards the kitchen entrance and the living room one towards the windows.the furniture shouldn't be anything overpowering to the space.

I'm assuming since he's recommended 5 panels, they will all be stacking to one side? If you were to have each side stack, then an even number would make sense. If they are stacking to one side, then five is better, as it is an odd number (better visually) and one less panel to stack back. You might want to tell us more about where these doors are going and perhaps even send us some pictures. If we can see what you are addressing we would be able to give you an answer that goes beyond conjecture.

Hi Few points: 1. It's not an independent residential apartment. It is a flat in a 25storey block 2. I have attached the floor plan for reference. The entrance is not too huge. 3. It's good to know that you guys have liked the Bathroom & kitchen design. The tiling work is in progress and it has come out well. I will take few snaps and post 4. When I say resort look - I understand and mean a simplistic natural looking design. More towards wood, nature, green, matt finish etc... Hope i am not confusing anyone here 5. Do you think the bathroom & kitchen design gels with what I mean by resort look. 6. The foyer area is a small (not too big) entrance. It's like a passage as you can see in the pics I posted earlier. When you enter you don't see the entire living room rather you see the wall (kitchen wall), where we intend to keep our dining table. Some thoughts on designing that wall is also requested Thanks!

Depending on budget, a glass guard that cascades past the dining room level would feel very modern. The attached image isn't the same condition but should give a good idea on the detail.

Hi 4evazx, I believe that you had given your designer a good and clear brief of your wants and needs and discussed all details with your designer. Your designer has done a great job as i can see from the floor plan and lighting layout. Trust your instinct and have faith in your designer. The only thing i would recommend is that you get your 12w downlight at 4000k. This is a natural daylight glow and is great in apartments. Do post pictures of your apartment when its done. Enjoy the process.

How about a dining area then shelving behind a sofa (or part of a sectional)? The shelving can be used like a sideboard (for storage and display) and will help to divide the two areas.

maybe a high upholstered banquette directly across from the kitchen? It will create a nice definition of space and can fell very luxurious. A banquette is also a great space saver. and often seats more people than a standard chair at a table If you use a long pedestal table you can slide it under the seat of the banquette when not in use. That leaves a wider path for you to get to the living room area by the windows.
