I opened my earlier post to edit the paint name in case you ever want to paint non-tufted, no-nap fabric. Unfortunately, my cat Linguine loves the binging and bonging sounds of the computer when he stands on the keyboard. Not helpful. It disappeared so... here is the name: Simply Spray Fabric Paint for Upholstery. (They have your charcoal gray) It did not make the fabric crunchy, stiff or weird. Nobody wants crunchy, stiff, or weird :-) Again, I would not paint the fabric on your gorgeous bed but I would change the wood color. The black edge and empty white room are the reasons it looks heavy. If you paint the black, I would suggest using an artist brush on the edge that meets the fabric even with fabric covered. House or painter's brushes are too wide for good control in that tight space. They are not as flexible as artists brushes nor as small. The Paris bed I mentioned was gray velvet and soft matte metallic gold wood. Soft, romantic, dreamy and transporting to a world of Princesses and Kings. If you keep the purple, I vote for gold or silver wood but NOT high gloss.

Well, there are basically 2 ways: Straight and diagonally. This is assuming all floor tiles are the same size and square, of course. If you have a rectangle, then you already have more choice - horizontally or vertically. There are some mix and match sold as sets or created by the person buying them that make the options virtually endless. Heck, you could have chevron floors. You can make a tile "rug" in an area. You can make stripes with a different contrasting tile. You could lay them like parquet floors. You can add little glass tiles in the corners. If you are working with rectangles and/or mixed shapes, the sky is the limit.

I really like pale grayish sage with white. Also a cool greenish aqua for a soothing look to the bath. White or gray Corian counter. If it's a low-use bath such as a powder room, white marble would be lovely for the counter. Rug or mat on the floor with a nice pattern to hide spills, dog hair, etc. If you have a window, lovely drapes, custom shade or match-stick blinds would help warm the space. Finally, if you have a bathtub, a custom shower curtain will really dress up the space and add character/warmth. Are these your chairs? They are pretty good looking. You can go with something like a round copper-topped table, use them as a host and hostess chair in a formal dining setting, or as parlor/library occasional chairs. Those would be a few great uses for them. They are very nice and can either go rustic, craftsman, lodge or traditional in the right environment.
