Materials used for stepped patio?

Hello again Terra Studio! Can the stepped patio materials be purchased locally? I would like to design a similar patio or perhaps call in Terra to build for us. Can you give a rounded figure of the cost of this completed project?

Hi Shalom73, I'm happy to hear that you like the patio. The deck boards are a Brazilian hardwood that had FSC certification, meaning that its forest of origin was responsibly maintained - and hopefully continues to be. It is an impressively dense wood that endures over time. Other materials in this patio are masonry walls, bluestone caps and bluestone pavers. The patio was constructed as part of a larger project so I could not tell you its independent cost. If you would like to discuss the project you are considering, please let me know. Best, Tim

Hi Few points: 1. It's not an independent residential apartment. It is a flat in a 25storey block 2. I have attached the floor plan for reference. The entrance is not too huge. 3. It's good to know that you guys have liked the Bathroom & kitchen design. The tiling work is in progress and it has come out well. I will take few snaps and post 4. When I say resort look - I understand and mean a simplistic natural looking design. More towards wood, nature, green, matt finish etc... Hope i am not confusing anyone here 5. Do you think the bathroom & kitchen design gels with what I mean by resort look. 6. The foyer area is a small (not too big) entrance. It's like a passage as you can see in the pics I posted earlier. When you enter you don't see the entire living room rather you see the wall (kitchen wall), where we intend to keep our dining table. Some thoughts on designing that wall is also requested Thanks!

Work with a landscape designer/architect. Likely, some sort of retained, back filled walls will be necessary to create an area large enough to place a table with chairs & umbrella. If you entertain multiple generations, keep your patio to a single level. I would suggest integrating planting areas within the patio area, to introduce color & eventually partial shade. Designing a pergola into this composition would be a nice addition to. Get the blessings of any governing/HOA body that you need approvals from, which your design professional of choice should be able to facilitate for you. Happy Houzzing!

I agree with the others - ask your neighbor about painting the side of the garage that faces your yard. Depending on your style of decor, you can treat this as a part of your yard and change the appearance completely. Consider a low fence to separate your yard from the street/driveway, something similar to the red fence shown, to provide you a smaller "room" for entertaining. I live in an area where the side of the neighbors house defines the property line and have decorated the side of the neighbors house with various items to break up the expanse of wall (old window frames with the glass missing, sections of old iron fences, bird houses, etc); it really helps to cozy up the space. A trench filled with gravel and topped with larger rocks will help with the water issue and direct the water to other areas of the yard. A brick or paver patio would be lovely for establishing a conversation/grill area. The pictures submitted by PC have some great ideas. I can't recommend plants since I have not idea what part of the country you are located in

How to fill up sunken bath/shower?

Hi, there is a sunken bath/shower in the toilet. It has 2 steps. Old age so afraid of tripping. a) Can the sunken bath/shower be filled up/level up ? b) What methods to use ? What materials to use to fill up ? Cement ? c) The unit is a condo, so afraid of laden weight concerns. Need professional engineer to check ? Need to seek MCST approval ?
