With your gorgeous stone (LOVE IT !!!) I think a plain, matte tile would look best. Some texture rather than high gloss. You did very well in matching the tile shades to the stone but, it's just too many shades. JMO

I think the right cream or light brown would look better. What you have is very pretty but, imo, is too busy with that gorgeous counter.

Even if a bathroom is art deco it can still be clean. There are some amazing designs that comprise your minimalist aspirations whilst still reflecting art deco themes. Thanks! I do love the backsplash on its own but not completely with the counter. My husband loves it. This more like what I was thinking
or travertine subway but I haven't found one that doesn't look "pinky".

It's important to pay close attention when pairing two different stones side by side. It certainly can be done, but be sure they aren't too much alike in pattern and / or color. Pulling out one of the colors in the countertop with a solid like you have in the smaller picture is definitely more successful. LOVE the slab of granite by the way...STUNNING!

The original backsplash has the right colors but would be too busy and take away from the countertop. You want the countertop to be the focus, since it is such a gorgeous slab! The solid color subway tile is a nice choice. I think that or maybe an ivory travertine (if you're leaning more towards natural stone) would be good options.
