DOOR OR NO DOOR????

Should I put a door for the kitchen or no door???

Please don't consider the surround....not finished paint, old door frames will be gone,etc....

Only if you want noise reduction. Otherwise it looks very nice and contemporary.

I agree with Ideahound. I would recommend that you do not put a door there, but rather finish it off as a nice cased opening. However, if you don't want noises from the kitchen audible in that hallway the door would help reduce noise.

Kitchen and dinning area could be smaller. The laundry ideally should be easily accessed, preferably close to the kitchen. Will the carport be parked with a vehicle for the majority of time? If so it might not be ideal to have the living room looking at the carport that is covered without much daylight.

It looks to me as if the hinges have been exposed to moisture. On a very tiny area, try a few drops of lemon juice and some table salt. Rub gently with a cotton swab. Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. I do not know it it will work because I do not know what kind of metal the hinges are.

I would bet the door will always be open. So keeping a door will only take up valuable space.
